2.Hindi Scholar and writer *Surendra Verma* selected for *2016 Vyas Samman award*.
He was chosen for this award for his novel *Kaatna Shami Ka Vriksha : Padma Pankhuri Ki Dhar Se ,* published in 2010.
3.Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson *Vikas Swarup* has been appointed the *new High Commissioner to Canada*.
4.The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, *Shri Radha Mohan Singh* inaugurated the *Indian Seed Congress 2017 in Kolkata*.

7. *AIIMS* was awarded a *cash prize of Rs 5 crore* for *maintaining high standards in sanitation and hygiene* and was followed by *Shillong’s North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS)* who came second and received a cash prize of Rs *3 crore* for cleanliness.
